Shanghai 13 (1984) -- A tenuous addition given Wang Yu's fleeting screen time. Despite being a late effort by Chang Cheh, 'Shanghai 13' is actually not an unwatchable mess, although it is rather sloppy and unfocused. The talent in front of the camera is extraordinary - David Chiang, Ti Lung, Chiang Sheng, Lau Kar Yeung, Chen Kwan Tai, Lu Feng, Andy Lau, Danny Lee, Chen Sing and of course Jimmy Wang Yu (who vanishes before the title sequence has even begun) are just some of the people wandering around this movie doing stuff that may or may not mean anything. Despite Chang Cheh being the solely credited director (and - ahem - 'writer'), this seems like three or four different movies that just happened to be in the same place at the same time, although action choreography by Lau Kar Wing, Lu Feng and Chiang Sheng (among others) makes it all worthwhile.
