C.I.A. Secret Story (1975) -- Faccia di Spia (The Face of a Spy) is written and directed by Giuseppe Ferrara, an ex-journalist who uses a pseudo-documentary format to reconstruct various political events that have taken place, surrounding the activities of the C.I.A. Although mostly reconstructed using actors, the film also utilises actual documentary footage.

Its quite an interesting film, which is remembered mostly by those who have seen it for some gruelling images mid-way through, that demonstrates some of the torture techniques employed in order to extract confessions and information from captured subjects: one woman is beaten, raped and has her nipple burnt with a candle; another has eels graphically shoved up her vagina; a man has his arm set alight; a black fella gets his arms messily hacked off with an axe, before his eyeball is sliced out, and, worst of all, a naked guy is tied to a chair, and has a metal pin inserted into his penis which is then heated, causing him to writhe in agony. Elsewhere, people and politicians are assassinated, and another body is found under an electrical pylon with his leg cut off.

The opening credits in the original Italian version, titled Faccia Di Spia, contains some graphic footage of severed heads and other body parts being discovered during the Vietnam conflict, whilst the English version, titled C.I.A - Secret Story, has the credits appear over a blank screen.
